Spirituality & Alchemy in Counselling Supervision
Caring for the Soul in Supervision Space
This experiential 2-day workshop (now expanded from the 1 day version) is designed for counselling supervisors, trainee supervisors and counselling practitioners with at least 3 years post-qualifying experience who wish to explore and integrate spirituality into their current and future supervision practice. The course will explore the mystical aspects of supervision, allowing participants to tap into their innate spirituality and create a more holistic and transformative supervision space. You do not have to have a faith or adhere to any religious philosophy in order to benefit from this course.
Working with the soul/alchemical/mystical experiences in Supervision can be a provocative and vulnerable topic. We will hold a respectful safe space for whatever you wish to bring to the day with us, respecting your beliefs and any spiritual path you might be following.
This course is not interested in showing you WHAT you integrate but pointing you that who you essentially ARE , IS the Integration you SEEK

4. Recognise the importance and personal responsibility of working with your shadow.

TESTIMONIALS
EH - Lecturer, Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor
'Today I was fortunate enough to have attended the dreamiest CPD event at Sand & Sound Centre. The one day training delved deep into the spiritual and soulful aspects of supervision, offering a refreshing and profound perspective on the role of a counselling supervisor. The trainers, Masha Bennett and Maria Kefalogianni, are exceptionally knowledgeable and engaging, seamlessly blending their lived experience with insightful and practical applications. Their ability to weave mystical elements into the supervision process was both enlightening and inspiring. The small group discussions and interactive sessions with sand tray and sound provided ample opportunities for reflection and personal growth, allowing exploration into the deeper dimensions of our experiences and consideration of its impact on both supervisees and clients. What stood out most was the supportive and nurturing environment created by Masha and Maria. There was a strong sense of community and shared purpose among peers, fostering meaningful connections and discussions. I’m looking forward seeing to how this training develops over time and would highly recommend to any counselling supervisor looking to deepen their practice and connect with the more spiritual and mystical aspects of their work.It was an enriching day that will have a lasting positive impact on my professional practice.'
SL - Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, Healer
'Yesterday, I attended a beautiful workshop called Alchemy and Spirituality for Supervision at the Sound and Sand Centre in Hyde, Greater Manchester.
We explored right-brain processes through creative expression - using sandtrays, art materials, and storytelling - to deepen our ability to connect with supervisees and clients on a soul level. It brought an extra touch of magic to the work, opening up new possibilities.
We also learned how to use stories as powerful metaphors to reach the unconscious mind—while being mindful not to overcomplicate the process.
One quote from a fellow participant really resonated with me: “We forget we are hiding and feel lost instead.”It made me reflect on how I can further integrate Shamanic practices - working with the elements of earth, air, fire, and water on the Medicine Wheel - as metaphors in supervision and therapy.
For a long time, I hid behind traditional counselling models. Now I embrace them and mix them with years of energy and Shamanic work. That blend - that alchemy - is where the transformation happens.
I’ve come away from the workshop full of ideas and inspiration to work in ways that transcend the limits of our everyday awareness—offering clients and supervisees the opportunity to go deeper.'
