Presence-Centered Psychotherapy

A trauma-sensitive, embodied approach to healing, self-understanding and inner wisdom.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
— Carl Rogers

"The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don't go back to sleep." — Rumi

The Therapeutic Ground of My Work

Presence-Centered Psychotherapy© is the therapeutic ground of my work.

I work from the understanding that you are not broken and do not need to be fixed.

Therapy can become a space where you slow down enough to notice what is actually happening within you — emotionally, relationally, physically and intuitively.

Rather than applying a rigid formula, I meet you where you are and we explore together what your experience is asking for.

My approach brings together psychological depth, embodied awareness, trauma-sensitive practice and a deep respect for your own inner knowing.

The intention is not simply to manage symptoms, but to develop a deeper capacity to be with yourself, your relationships and your life.

What Does Presence Mean?

Presence is more than simply being calm or mindful.

It is the capacity to become available to what is happening now, without immediately needing to judge, fix, suppress or explain it.

Sometimes what we need most is not another answer, but enough safety and spaciousness to hear what has been trying to speak through us.

In therapy, we may slow down and notice the sensations in your body, the emotions underneath your thoughts, the patterns that repeat in your relationships, or the parts of yourself that have learned to hide, protect or perform.

Through this process, something different can begin to emerge.

Greater awareness.

More choice.

A deeper relationship with yourself.

And, over time, a growing sense of inner trust.

How I Work

My work is both psychologically grounded and open to the deeper dimensions of human experience.

I may draw from somatic and embodiment practices, Internal Family Systems, Jungian psychology, trauma-informed mindfulness, relational psychotherapy, creative expression and contemplative inquiry, depending on who you are and what is needed.

I don't believe therapy should be a collection of techniques applied to you.

Your experience is the starting point.

We listen together.

We notice patterns rather than judging them.

We make space for emotions rather than treating them as problems to eliminate.

We become curious about what your body may already know.

And we gradually create the conditions for greater integration, self-understanding and freedom.

A Trauma-Sensitive Approach

Many of us have learned to survive by disconnecting from parts of ourselves.

We may become highly functional while feeling exhausted inside.

We may learn to mask, people-please, overthink, control, achieve or constantly adapt to the needs of others.

Sometimes these strategies were once essential.

They deserve curiosity rather than shame.

My approach is trauma-sensitive and neuro-affirming. I am interested in understanding the function of your patterns and the intelligence behind the ways you have learned to navigate the world.

We move gently.

There is no requirement to reveal everything at once.

The pace of the work matters.

This Work May Be Meaningful If You Are…

  • navigating motherhood, identity or a major life transition

  • living with neurodivergence, burnout or chronic overwhelm

  • working through trauma, grief, anxiety or relationship difficulties

  • questioning old ways of living, believing or belonging

  • experiencing a spiritual awakening or profound inner shift

  • longing for a deeper relationship with your body, intuition or creativity

  • feeling disconnected or fragmented and wanting to feel more whole

  • a therapist, healer or practitioner seeking deeper personal or professional integration

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong.

Sometimes you simply know that the old way of living no longer fits.

That is enough to begin.

What We May Cultivate Together

This work may support you to:

  • understand yourself and your patterns with greater compassion

  • reconnect with your body and its signals

  • develop greater emotional awareness and regulation

  • recognise the impact of trauma, relationships and conditioning

  • develop greater self-trust and agency

  • make space for intuition and creativity

  • experience less fragmentation and greater inner belonging

  • meet difficult experiences without immediately becoming overwhelmed by them

  • discover new possibilities where previously there seemed to be none

The aim isn't to create a perfect or permanently peaceful version of yourself.

It is to develop a deeper capacity to meet yourself as you are.

You Are Not Here to Become Someone Else

Our work together isn't about becoming a “better version” of yourself.

It is about developing the capacity to meet yourself more fully — including the parts that have been difficult to understand, accept or hold.

Sometimes healing means learning to soothe what has been overwhelmed.

Sometimes it means finding a voice for something that has been silenced.

Sometimes it means grieving what was never received.

Sometimes it means discovering that a part of you that you thought was a problem has actually been trying to protect something precious.

And sometimes, beneath all of this, there is a quieter experience of simply being.

We don't have to force that experience.

We make space for it.

The Ancient Mother Spiral

My work has also given rise to the Ancient Mother Spiral©, a framework for understanding transformation as a spiralic rather than linear process.

Life rarely changes in a straight line.

We return to familiar places, revisit old patterns and encounter ourselves again from a different vantage point.

The Spiral offers a living map for the thresholds, descents, surrenders, renewals and moments of emergence that can accompany profound change.

It is not something I impose upon you.

It is a framework I may draw upon when it feels meaningful to your journey.

When Spirituality Is Part of Your Experience

For some people, psychological healing also opens questions about consciousness, meaning, spirituality or the nature of self.

You do not need to have a spiritual framework to work with me.

And I will never impose one upon you.

If spirituality, mystical experience, awakening or questions about consciousness are already part of your life, there is space for those experiences here too.

We can approach them with curiosity, discernment and groundedness.

The starting point is always your lived experience.

The Relationship Matters

I believe that healing happens within relationship.

You don't have to trust me immediately.

You don't have to arrive believing that therapy will work.

You are welcome to bring your doubts, scepticism, anger, confusion or uncertainty.

We can begin there.

My role is not to tell you who you are.

It is to create a space safe enough for you to encounter yourself honestly.

Together, we can explore the raw, messy and meaningful places of being human — with curiosity, compassion and presence.

Come As You Are

You don't need to have everything figured out before you reach out.

You don't need to know whether what you're experiencing is “serious enough.”

You don't need to know which approach you need.

We can begin with a conversation.

A brief conversation gives us an opportunity to hear what is happening for you, answer any questions and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.

There is no pressure to commit.

Just a place to begin.

Safety, consent, relationship and your capacity to stay connected to yourself remain central.
